Dear Parents,
The other members of the Auburn North Public School staff and I hope you and your families are well.
CONGRATULATIONS AUBURN NORTH STAFF
Last week our school received the most delightful email from the mother of one of our students. The mother’s very kind thoughts and comments reflect so positively on the quality of our school’s staff and the environment they have developed for her child and for all Auburn North students.
I would like to congratulate all members of our outstanding staff.
With the mother’s permission, please find below an extract from the email:
“Dear Auburn North Public School Team,
I hope this message finds you in great spirits. I want to share a heartwarming moment that truly reflects the exceptional support my child has received this year and always.
At a recent festive gathering, I was amazed to hear my son enthusiastically sharing with a group of children about how positively his teacher encourages and motivates everyone every day. He not only spoke about his own experiences but also inspired his friends to adopt a positive mindset. Several parents approached me, intrigued and impressed, asking which school he attends because they had never heard such uplifting words from a child about their school and teachers.
This experience reinforced my gratitude for Auburn North Public School and the incredible environment you’ve created. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to nurturing positivity and growth in our children. Your impact is profound and far-reaching, and I deeply appreciate all that you do.”
CONGRATULATIONS AUBURN NORTH OFFICE TEAM – OUR ‘AMBASSADORS OF FIRST IMPRESSIONS’
Each year the Auburn Network of Schools and the Chullora Network of Schools hold a very special combined presentation that acknowledges and rewards some outstanding individual people or teams of people who work in their schools.
A limited number of people or teams of people are nominated each year and only a limited number are selected to receive an award.
This year our executive team nominated our exceptional school office team for an award. We call the team our ‘Ambassadors of First Impressions’. This is because when children and adults come to Auburn North for the very first time, it is the lovely ladies in our office who greet them. They always greet first-time visitors with big smiles and kindness and represent our school brilliantly.
Of course, this is the way they greet all members of the Auburn North family every school day.
We are so pleased to let you know that our office team was selected for an award, as was each individual member of the team. What an achievement!
Mrs Clift and I accompanied the team to the presentation ceremony that was held at Merrylands East Public School. We watched as they proudly walked onto the stage to receive their awards.
Please find below the information we included on the nomination form.
“Auburn North Public School’s ‘Ambassadors of First Impressions’ administrative team plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and welcoming environment for all families, including our newly arrived families.
The team also facilitates outstanding processes that contribute to the school’s orderly learning environment and the efficient operation of the school.
Led by our outstanding Business Manager, Dilek Acar, the dynamic and harmonious team has the extraordinary ability to balance their administrative duties while providing a personal touch which underscores their essential role in maintaining mutually respectful relationships.
Together, Dilek Acar, Dolleen Abouraad, Ghada Serhan, Susan Iannitelli, Sandra Shekoush, and Mervat Helmy are not only exemplary ‘Ambassadors of First Impressions’ for our school, but also for the NSW public education system.”
CONGRATULATIONS MRS CLIFT
Over the past 25 years that I have been at Auburn North, there is one person who has had the greatest impact on our students, staff, parents, and our whole school community.
That person is Mrs Clift. When I arrived at Auburn North, it was already a good school. But the one person who has played the greatest role in transforming our school from good to great, as it is now, has been Mrs Clift.
During her 26 years at Auburn North, Mrs Clift has been a classroom teacher, a Teacher Librarian an Assistint Principal and of course, Deputy Principal.
As a teacher, Mrs Clift transformed our school from one where teachers taught in isolation and where there was little collaboration or teamwork, to a school where all teachers collaborate together to provide the best-possible programs and lessons for students.
As a Teacher-Librarian, Mrs Clift lobbied the Department of Education for funds so she could transform the dreary and outdated library into our dynamic ANCLIC.
As an Assistant Principal, Mrs Clift assisted teachers become the best teachers they could become and led the development of high-performing teams of teachers that always assisted students acieve outstanding outcomes. As a Deputy Principal, she is one of the reasons why our school was selected as an Ambassador School.
Mrs Clift is as enthusiastic about her job today as she was when I first met her 25 years ago. That is extraordinary and we are so lucky to know Mrs Clift and be supported by her. Mrs Clift is an ANPS treasure and her knowlege and skills have been so important to our school's development.
We would like to congratulate Mrs Clift on being presented with her 20 years of Dedicated Service Certificate from the NSW Department of Education.

Class Report 3N
3N are continuing to soar in Term 4.
We are delighted to share that Mrs Nguyen has welcomed a baby girl named Emma to her family. We hope to be able to meet Emma soon.
3N has been working so hard in their literacy groups and in their numeracy, technology, dance and creative arts lessons and I am looking forward to seeing all students continue to do their best and a little bit more in all areas this term.
Literacy:
In our literacy groups, 3N has been exploring a range of quality texts, including poetry, narratives, persuasive texts and informative texts. A class favourite has been ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’. It is as messy as it sounds.
This term, our investigative reporters are writing persuasive and research-based discussion texts. Through the writing process, we are not only developing our literacy skills but also expanding our knowledge of a variety of topics from environmental issues to tourism and animal welfare.
Numeracy:
In numeracy, 3N has been working hard to multiply and divide by 2s, 4s, 5s and 10s. We have also been learning how to solve worded addition and subtraction problems. We know it is important to read the question carefully, identify the math vocabulary, decide what the question is asking us to do, select the most efficient strategy, record key numbers and information, and then find and record the answer. To check our work, we should repeat this process again.
Whether it is the jump strategy, split strategy, or compensation strategy, we have discovered that there is always more than one way to solve a maths problem.
3N Spotlight:
This semester, 3N has been comparing the features and characteristics of living and non-living things and exploring their impact on our environment. As budding zoologists, we decided to further explore the concept of sustainability when we embarked on our exciting excursion to Taronga Zoo.
We used our geographical, mathematical and literacy skills as we followed the "Taronga Zoo map while exploring the zoo. Taranga Zoo staff and members of the public took time out from their busy days to commend our students on their outstanding behaviour and manners. We are so proud of our students for exemplifying our Auburn North values and being excellent school representatives.
3N students are also motivated to engage in other curriculum areas this term, including Mrs Harrouk’s energetic dance program and Ms Lau’s engaging technology program called ‘Tynker’. We will also continue to work diligently to showcase our talents and achievements during our ‘Stage Two Gatherings’, while challenging ourselves to be better, kinder, braver and smarter each and every day.

Class Report :1P
IP has been working exceptionally hard to achieve their personal best this year. Each day brings new opportunities that are met with a curious mind and a ‘can do’ attitude by all students. The 1P family continue to work together with respect and kindness which has created a classroom environment where everyone feels welcome.
Literacy
1P continues to create and respond to a wide variety of writing stimului. This year we have explored how to persuade an audience and create a narrative. Some fantastic examples have included trying to convince Mr Harris that we should get a classroom pet! We have also written some very imaginative stories with unusual characters!
Numeracy
In Maths, we continue to build our knowledge about the importance of numbers in our world. We are learning many new strategies around how to combine and separate numbers, measure various objects and remember useful facts such as bonds of ten! 1P have been focussing on how they arrived at an answer and to explain their thinking. This has greatly improved their confidence and skills.
Sport
The sports highlight this semester would be our Dance competition where 1P practised and delivered an electrifying performance in front of our friends and special guests. They slid, jumped, balanced and dazzled and managed to achieve all of this through perseverance, focus and with huge smiles. Very impressive!
Digital Technology
This semester, 1P explored the wonderful world of Blu Bot robots. They integrated their critical thinking, collaboration and mathematical skills to program them with directions and had a lot of fun in the process!
