Dear Parents,
Like all other NSW public schools, at the end of 2020 our school conducted a very thorough consultation process to assist in the development of our 2021 – 2024 Strategic Improvement Plan.
The purpose of the consultation process was to:
- Determine what our school learning community was doing well in the areas of leadership, teaching, student wellbeing, student learning, and parent engagement.
- Identify ways our school could improve in these five areas.
- Develop a four-year improvement plan to become an even better school for students, staff, and parents.
This consultation process included parent surveys, meetings with groups of students, staff surveys, and meetings with groups of teachers.
Our 2021 – 2024 Strategic Improvement Plan includes our Vision, our Mission, our Strategic Directions, our Improvement Measures, and information about some of the programs and practices we will be implementing to achieve our vision.
Our 2021 – 2024 Vision is:
“To be a truly outstanding future-focused learning community for all members of the Auburn North family.”
Importantly, we have defined what ‘future-focused’ means in our Auburn North context. At Auburn North we believe if our students are going to be successful today and tomorrow, and if they are going to become successful lifelong learners then then they need to develop outstanding:
- Basic Skills in literacy and numeracy;
- Technology Skills;
- 21st Century Skills such as collaboration, and critical and creative thinking.
We also believe if our students are going to be successful, happy young people they need to live and breathe our six school values of respect, kindness, fairness, honesty, friendship, and responsibility.
Our school learning community believes our leaders, teachers, and parents need to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills if our students are going to develop the skill set above, and if they are going to live and breathe of values.
A range of programs for leaders, teachers, and parents have been implemented and will continue to be developed and implemented to assist them develop their capacity to assist our students.
A copy of the 2021-2024 Strategic Improvement Plan can be found on our school website.
OUR 2022 SCHOOL SAYING
Each year our school develops a ‘SCHOOL SAYING’. The purpose of the school saying is to provide students with a clear focus for their learning, attitude, and behaviour for that particular year.
During the first three weeks of each school year, students and staff are invited to nominate sayings to be considered for selection.
I am pleased to inform you that the nomination that was selected this year was developed by Ms Hamm, the leader of our year 6 team.
Our 2022 school saying is:
“It’s 2022, and we know what to do.
Work hard, be kind, and make our dreams come true.”
With the help of their teachers, each student will soon develop their 2022 learning goals and learning dreams. This year, our teachers will motivate students to work hard and be kind, and our teachers will use their excellent teaching skills to assist all students realise their 2022 dreams by the end of this school year.
2022 TEACHERS
In our first 2022 newsletter, I shared with you the names of our school leaders and their roles. Please find below a list of this year’s very talented and dedicated teachers and specialist support teachers.
Our 2022 team of leaders and teachers is the most outstanding team I have seen assembled in all the schools I have worked in or visited.
