Dear Parents,
I believe 2022 has been our school’s happiest, most dynamic, and most successful in the 23 years I have been the principal of Auburn North Public School. A wide range of evidence supports this view.
We have always been a high-performing school but this year we have set new standards of excellence in terms of the quality of our:
- Leadership
- Teaching
- Teacher Professional Development
- Learning
- Parent Involvement and Engagement
- School Cohesiveness
- School Performance
Our year of outstanding successes in these areas are the result of the way in which all members of our multi-award-winning Auburn North Public School Learning Community have worked together tirelessly and in perfect harmony.
Each one of our students deserves to be congratulated on a year of hard work, a year of always doing their very best, a year where all or most of their DREAMS were realised, and a year where they were always kind and respectful.
Congratulation girls and boys.
I would like to thank and congratulate our parents for being such delightful people who always support our school and who have worked so hard this year for their children. The way in which our parents are raising their children is a model for parents in other schools.
Thank you and congratulations Parents.
SEMESTER 2 REPORTS – A “CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS”
Semester 2 student reports have gone home today. I have read and signed each of the 645 reports and each one is a "CELEBRATION OF SUCCESS". The reports reflect your children’s progress over the past six months and demonstrate how effectively and successfully our students, teachers, and parents have worked together collaboratively and cooperatively all year to facilitate student success. Again, congratulations girls and boys.
I encourage you to sit down with your children this afternoon to join in their celebration.
THANK YOU, ANPS STAFF
The quality of education that a student experiences in a school is very much dependent on the quality of a school’s leaders and teachers. Auburn North students have been blessed this year to have been nurtured and taught by truly outstanding leaders and teachers.
I would like to thank and congratulate all K-6 classroom teachers and specialist teachers for their commitment to maximising the wellbeing and learning outcomes of our students and for working so very hard this year.
I would also like to thank our teachers for making learning fun and rewarding for our students and for assisting our students love their school and love learning.
Thank you and congratulations, Teachers. You have been an absolute pleasure to work with this year and I wish all of you a relaxing and happy holiday.
I would like to thank and congratulate all members of our leadership team for their inspiring leadership, for their unrelenting pursuit of excellence in everything they have done this year, and for developing their high-performing teams using their exemplary leadership knowledge and skills.
Our leaders have ensured that Auburn North's high expectations have underpinned all 2022 programs and initiatives and the quality of their management and organisation this year has been truly outstanding.
Thank you and congratulations, Leaders.
Our excellent “Ambassadors of First Impressions” (ie our office administrative officers) have continued to provide the very best service to and support for our students, parents, staff, and visitors, and always with a big smile.
Thank you and congratulations, Ambassadors.
Our two general assistants, Mr Frank and Mr Ray, have worked so well together as one team to ensure our school grounds and equipment were well maintained to facilitate high-quality teaching and learning, and to enable children to play in attractive surroundings.
Thank you, Mr Ray and Mr Frank.
And Johnny, our pedestrian crossing friend, has ensured our students, parents and staff were always able to safely cross Adderley Street.
Thank you, Johnny.
BEST WISHES
We would like to wish Ms Nalbantuglu all the very best as she prepares for the birth of her first baby. We would also like to wish Mrs Picken all the best as she awaits the birth of her second baby.
We look forward to both Ms Nalbantuglu and Mrs Picken bringing their little bundles of joy to our school sometime next year.
STAFFING INFORMATION and FAREWELLS

We would like to thank each one of these special members of staff for being so committed to the education and welfare of our students while they have been members of our learning community.
The teachers who are ‘moving on’ are:
- Mrs Alholeilei
- Ms Woodward
- Mrs Harvey-Lee

December 16th 2022 Last Day for students
January 31st 2023 First day back to school Year 1 - 6
February 6th 2023 First Day Back for Kindergarten students
We wish all our Year six students students the very best on the next chapter in high school and may Auburn North Public school always hold a very special place in youre hearts.
Zahra Zargar
I would like to welcome every student, teacher, parent and of course Mr Harris to the memorable 2022 graduation ceremony. The year 6 of 2022 has been an exciting and unstoppable year for all of us. We achieved numerous goals no matter what obstacle or path was in our way. Together, we had so many fun memories. Including, cozy clothes day, crazy hair and sock day, overnight excursion and book week. I’m so grateful for all of you and I wouldn’t have chosen any other year 6 cohort for 2022. Additionally, I wish the best of luck for the future Year 6 and carrying on our legacy.
I would personally like to address the fact that our teachers worked so hard this year and I'm so grateful for every single educator that has benefited Auburn North Public School. I would especially like to give a shout out to Miss Hamm, Miss Edwards and Miss Varley for giving in their time and effort into making this year the best it could possibly have been.
However, we would not have been here without the help of our stage 3 instructional leader, Miss Wallace. She has done so much behind the scenes for us and we are so appreciative of Miss Wallace’s hard work and dedication to ensuring we always have the best of everything. Be it with learning or having fun, she always goes above and beyond for us.
I would also like to thank Miss Southgate and Miss Clift for working incredibly hard to make us talented, unique and creative leaders.

First and foremost, I would like to show my gratitude to our honourable principal, Mr Harris. I would like to start off by saying, even though we will inevitably leave the school, Year 6 is once a part of the Auburn North family and we will always stay a part of the Auburn North family. I appreciate how hard Mr Harris has worked for the last 22 years at Auburn North Public School and I have seen magnificent changes throughout the 7 amazing years I have attended this school and I am sure Mr Harris will accomplish unbelievable heights.
Every single student should be extremely proud of themselves. However, they could not have been so incredible without being raised by such outstanding role model parents or guardians. Every family that is a part of Auburn North Public School has been so successful in raising such beautiful, brilliant children. We wish the parents and guardians of all these astonishing students all the best. When I look at each and every one of you I see a leader, a confident leader.
I would like to conclude by saying a quote written by Chris Grosser,
“Opportunities don’t occur,
You create them.”
Take that with you through 2023.
Thank you for making 2022 a memorable year for us!
