Year 6 are learning about Earth and Space in science this term.
The students in 6V have started to investigate the key inquiry question, ‘How do sudden geological changes and extreme weather events affect the Earth’s surface?’ using the Inquiry Model. This model involves the processes of thinking, planning, doing and reflecting.
Our first lesson included researching natural disasters, such as volcanoes and earthquakes. This involved students engaging in a Gallery Walk, working in groups to record information located at different stations in the classroom. This week, students worked in pairs using a mind map to think of questions related to a natural disaster that would guide their research. They have recorded their understanding of the topic in their own words using Powerpoint and are eager to present their finding to peers in the coming weeks.

In Year 1 our learning goal in writing this week was to use adjectives to describe nouns. We have been using adjectives to describe seahorses, turtles and blue whales.
Students from 1F have been striving to get a stamp on their writing bookmark every day to show they have met the learning goal.

We have been practising our letter formation when we carefully publish our work. This week we practiced our typing skills by publishing our writing on the computer!

1F created some beautiful sea animal artworks to display with their writing.
