Dear Parents,
The other members of the Auburn North staff and I hope you are well.
EDUCATION WEEK
While our school learning community believes “Every Week is Education Week at Auburn North Public School”, we also believe it is important to celebrate the annual NSW Education Week program in some special way.
This year we wanted to celebrate Education Week by inviting parents to visit their children’s classrooms to:
- See and appreciate the attractive and stimulating learning environments that our teachers and students have developed.
- Watch and appreciate the way our teachers use their personalities and their excellent teaching knowledge and skills to motivate students, to engage the children in their learning, and to assist students achieve success.
- Learn with their children.
Our Education Week morning program last week was an outstanding success with hundreds of parents joining their children in their classrooms.
I would like to thank our teachers and their leaders for enabling our parents to gain a real insight into what their children learn and how they learn.
AUBURN REVIEW NEWSPAPER
Each year during Education Week we place an advertisement in the Auburn Review newspaper to promote our school in the wider community. On behalf of our staff, I wrote this year’s advertisement.
The heading of this year’s advertisement was ‘What do you want for your child?’ and the advertisement included the following questions:
- "Do you want your child to love school and love learning?
- Do you want your child to be taught by the most caring and outstanding teachers?
- Do you want your child to make friends with perfectly behaved students who are totally focused on their learning and exceeding their full potential in all areas?
- Do you want your child to attend a school where staff, students and parents teach, learn, parent, and live together in perfect harmony?
- Do you want your child to attend a school that is recognised as one of NSW’s highest performing schools and has achieved a wide range of State and Regional awards for excellence?"
The advertisement concludes with the following statement:
"If you want your child to be a high achiever in both primary and high school, then my Auburn North colleagues and I believe our school is THE school for your child and your family."
The Auburn North staff hope you believe Auburn North is THE RIGHT school for you and your family.
PARKING and TRAFFIC ISSUES - ADDERLEY STREET
Like many schools, we experience some parking and traffic issues before and after school, especially on Adderley Street. Most of these issues occur after school.
For the safety of our students, can I ask for your assistance and cooperation. If you drive on Adderley Street after school to meet and collect your child, can you follow all road rules. This includes not double parking. This only creates traffic congestion and could one day lead to an accident and possibly an injury.
CLASS REPORTS – KH and 6E
For your reading please pleasure, please find attached to this newsletter class reports by KH and 6E. I would like to thank the KH students and their teacher, Ms Saidi, and the 6E students and their teacher, Ms Edwards.

Principal
We are now enrolling for kindergarten 2024. If you have any friends or relatives whom live in our local school catchment, and their child is turning five before July 2024. Please encourage them to visit our school office for an enrolment pack.
It has been an amazing term 3 and a fantastic year in KH thus far. Students have improved in all learning areas from reading, writing, adding, subtracting, as well as developing their 21st century skills during technology. KH students have also enjoyed making new friends which has helped them grow both socially and emotionally.
In literacy, KH students have been working hard to write interesting sentences that include capital letters, spaces between words and full stops. This week students have been experimenting with writing sentences that include the suffix- ‘ing’ whilst basing their writing around a variety of farm animals. The boys and girls have shown determination to produce amazing sentences that reflect the writing goals.

In numeracy, students have learned how to make combinations of numbers that equal to 10. The KH students have been successfully using their ten frames and double-sided counters to discover the possible two numbers of groups added to make 10. Students could even record their number combinations.
KH students have engaged in very exciting and challenging gymnastics lessons during sport this term. The keen students displayed wonderful perseverance and skill to accomplish each task such as balancing, jumping onto big mats using trampolines and crawling through a dark tunnel. It was so lovely seeing the students gain confidence as they overcame and completed each task. Keep up the good work KH!

Wow what an amazing first half of the year we have had in 6E! We are really enjoying our final year at ANPS, and we are cherishing all the memories we are making. We are proud to have become the senior students in our school and are doing our best to be great role models for the younger students. We have even started peer support with our Kindy friends this week and we are having a great time encouraging them.
So far this year we have been very busy with literacy and numeracy that is preparing us for the next chapter of our school careers- starting High School! We have completed novel studies, entered writing competitions, and continued refining our spelling and grammar skills. In maths we’ve leaned about fractions, decimals, multi-step word problems, equations and even started learning about algebra!
Of course we are so excited for the special events that are coming up for Year 6 and the whole school. We look forward to our Stage 3 overnight camp or our in-school camp activities, our Year 6 farewell and Graduation and we are eagerly practicing for our Community Festival Day performance!
Lastly, we farewelled Miss Wallace this term. We all thanked her so much for the amazing work she has done for all of us. We also want to thank Mrs Clift for taking up the role of our Stage 3 Leader and making sure our final year at ANPS is better than the best.
Year six have been learning about 'Material World', focousing on solids, liquids, and gases as a part of their learning.
Year 6 students and teachers went on an excursion to the Western Sydney Parklands in Abbotsbury. A wonderful day was had by all.
